Fox Run Brands Porcelain Butter Keeper

      Softened butter on freshly baked bread is one of life's little luxuries. But butter stored in the refrigerator is impossible to spread without tearing the bread. This porcelain Butter Keeper from Fox Run solves the problem by enabling you to safely store your butter out of the refrigerator, so it stays soft and spreadable. White Ceramic; dishwasher safe. Fill the base of the butter keeper with ¼ cup of cold water. Pack softened butter into the cup of the lid and invert into the base of the butter keeper. The water creates a complete seal around the cup to keep the butter fresh. For best results, store away from sunlight, stove, or oven. Replace the water in the base of the butter keeper every three days with fresh cold water. Wash the butter keeper thoroughly in between use. Not recommended for processed cheeses or foodstuffs.       The Goldinger Dublin Covered Butter Dish exceeded my expectations from the moment I opened the box. It looks and feels more expensive than it cost. It is roomy enough for a whole stick of butter and then some. The top has a nice balance to it and the handle feels secure when you lift it. It looks good with my best dishes and my every day dishes. I could not be more happy with it.

Beehive Acrylic Plastic Butter Dish

    This Lexan Clear Acrylic butter dish is the next best thing to toast! After going through 3 glass butter dishes at roughly $5 a pop, so far this one appears indestructible. Taking care of my 86 year old father and trying to avoid accidents with broken glass I think this butter dish will do the trick.

     It looks just like glass while setting on the kitchen counter or the table. Your average 1¼" X 1¼" X 4½" stick of butter fits perfectly with ½" to spare on either side and a ¼" at the ends when placed in exact center. The base has a lip that the cover fits into snuggly but not tight enough to be picked up by it. Like all acrylic products, I recommend "hand washing" rather than the dishwasher. Ya never know. You just might end up with those tiny cracks left by the high heat and it would be a shame because this butter dish looks so nice.

     I've been using this butter dish for a month now and it still looks the same when it was delivered. So far, knives haven't left any cut or scuff marks on the base.
